We have made it 4 months into this deployment!
I am so excited that we are getting further into this thing and closer to the day I can have my husband home!! It has been a crazy 4 months to say the least. Moving from Washington state back home to Indiana was not as good of an idea as I thought it would be. Putting myself, my daughter and our two boxers into a two bedroom house with my mom, her boyfriend, their dog and my brother, his girlfriend and their two dogs was a horrible combination. I stuck it out through the holidays and made it work for my daughter. Shortly after the new year I packed up and headed to Florida to live with my sister in law and her boyfriend. We are settled in here and trying to make the best of things. The pregnancy is going great. We found out that we are having a little boy who is due on Aug. 5th 2012. My husband is due home in late July for R&R and the doctor has agreed to induce me shortly after he is home to make sure that he will be here for the birth. Now I just keep praying that my little man decides to stay put until his daddy can be here with us. I miss my husband like crazy! I wish everyday that he could be here to go through this pregnancy with me but I know why he isn't here and I am so proud of him for the things that he does.

Amazing news I need to share....
So I am very excited to announce that after 3 years of trying and two rounds of infertility medications, we are finally going to be able to welcome a new member to The Combs family in 2012!!! My husband and I are so excited that God has chosen this time for us. In saying that, it is somewhat bittersweet with my husband deploying to the Middle East in a week. I know that this is going to make things trying but we will have a wonderful new addition to the family when its all over. We are keeping out fingers crossed that he will at least be able to be home for the birth if nothing else. We are lucky to have a great unit here and so it should be no problem, as long as something doesn't come up.

Here goes nothing....
So as my family and I are looking into the face of yet another deployment I was thinking of ways to make this one go smoother then the last one. It came to mind to start a blog. This is something that I have wanted to do for a long time but just haven't had to time to do it. After two moves across the country (the first one to Texas from Indiana, where I'm from and then to Washington state) I have thought to myself this is probably the easiest way to stay in touch with my friends and family that are all over the world as well as to keep my husband in the loop of day to day life as he travels thousands of miles away to defend our freedom.
